The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is one of the most iconic dog races in the world held on the first Saturday of March every year.
The 2018 Iditarod race gets underway at 10 a.m., on Saturday, March 3 in Anchorage, Alaska and follows a nearly 1,000 mile trail to Nome.

Last year, Mitch Seavey became the oldest musher to win the race at the age of 57. Mitch hails from the iconic Seavey mushing family, which has seen one of their kin win the last six Iditarods.
Mitch Seavey set a new record by finishing the race in eight days, three hours, 40 minutes and 13 seconds. The previous record was held by Mitch’s son Dallas Seavey.
