Synedem is an injectable solution of Fursemide and Dexamethasone.
COMPOSITION: Each 100ml contains:
Fursemide 5g, Dexamethasone (21 phosphate) 0.2g, Formulation agents e.q.
INDICATIONS: As indicated in all species: Pulmonary edema, pulmonary congestion, renal edema, ascites, pregnancy edema, cardiac edema, hepatic edema. Due to its anti-inflammatory and diuretic action, Synedem is indicated in intoxications of diverse origin (stimulating drugs, food alimentary, intestinal or myogenic autointoxications, etc.).
HORSES: Pre and post parturition udder edemas, prepucial edemas, wound edemas, ophidian or insect bites, etc.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Administer by Intramuscular or slow intravenous injection.
Large animals: 10-25 ml per day or as prescribed by a veterinary surgeon.
Small animals: 0.25-0.5 ml per day or as prescribed by a veterinary surgeon.
In pre and post parturition udder edemas generally one single application is enough. In other edemas the dose may be doubled every 12 or 24 hrs. based on the severity of the affection and the patient response. In case of adverse reaction to the medicine, administration must be suspended or the dose reduced. In violent and prolonged treatments, the electrolytic balance must be checked (Sodium, potassium, chloride).
CONTRADICTIONS: Glomerulonephritis (acute) or acute renal insufficiency, hepatic cirrhosis (serious), active tuberculosis, systemic fungal infections and virus infections.
